The Maroro Story is a novel written by my late grandfather, Captain Stan Brown, a man whose life at sea became family legend.
As a birthday gift for my grandmother, I reimagined the book for a new generation, redesigning the cover, typesetting all 19 chapters, and managing the second print run.
The cover art draws from a 1950s brochure for the vessel Maroro, carefully redrawn in Illustrator and finished in InDesign, a small act of design that carried a lot of love.
This one wasn’t about clients or campaigns. It was about legacy, and keeping our stories alive.
